Hello,

My parents entered Canada on a visitor visa on Feb 25, 2020. Due to the risk of travel owing to covid, I delayed their travel and filed an extension request on Jul 23, 2020.
In the application for extension I requested for extended stay until Jan 31, 2021. This application is still pending and unlikely to be approved before Jan 31, 2021.

I would like to further extend their stay by another 60 days beyond Jan 31st.

Does the current implied status hold good until a decision is made on the original application. Or do I need to file another extension request for them to be able to stay beyond the date (Jan 31st) requested in original application?

Thank you

You must wait until you get the first approval/refusal before applying for anything else.

Thank You!
But, just to clarify - Are they legally allowed to stay on implied status beyond the date requested in the original application as I have only requested extension until Jan 31, 2021? If yes, will the visitor record (when it gets approved) be granted beyond the approval date?

Thanks again!
