Implied status of visitor visa and travel within Canada.

Hi, we are waiting for the approval of extension of visa for my son, i am wondering if during this time that he is under an implied status, can he travel within to Canada? We want to go from Edmonton to Vancouver by plane to visit a friend. Wondering they will ask his passport or what else? His visitor visa isnt expired only his staying thats why we asked for an extension. Thank u

He would be under implied status until a decision is made. He can travel within a Canada just showing his passport as ID to airline checkin. Airlines are not interested in visa status for domestic travel just a valid photo Id
