My spouse is in Canada with me and we are preparing to send our sponsorship application shortly. Her status is a visitor and she is from a visa exempt country (France) and we are in Ottawa.
The application is going to be outbound (to try to speed up the processing). Her 6 month status will expire soon (based on the stamp in the passport). We had a child recently (born in Canada) and was wondering if this changes the situation in regards to the status, as she is the mother.
Can she remain in Canada once the application is sent? I've read some posts about 'implied status' and was wondering if this status is applicable to her based on the situation. Is there any exemption I can request to enable her to stay in Canada during the duration of the application processing given the baby situation?
Also, does the application automatically go to Mississauga (for evaluating me first) and then to France visa office based on her credentials?
Thanks in advance!
