Anyone tried applying for jobs while on implied status?

How familiar are employers with this?

Has anyone gotten a job offer even though on paper, your work permit and your SIN number are expired?

Not too much, but some are depends on a case to case basis.

If under implied status yes.

Employers don't like implied status persons, as they would be investing money and time on someone that they don't know would have to leave shortly. Therefore even though it is legal, employers prefer people with a solid status.

What type of work permit did you have? Many open work permits do not benefit from implied status.

OP has an OWP based on an inland app. and has applied for a second OWP because the first is expiring.

I have my OWP (also AIP) that expired November, applied for extension October.

Ya, I figured if it comes down to me and another person, why would they choose someone who could potentially be out of status (knock on wood). It sucks because I have nothing on paper that says I have implied status and am actually able to work legally here.

But if there's a chance, maybe i'll go for it and look for another job... Thanks guys.
