IMPLIED STATUS AND EXPIRED DOCUMENTS

Hey guys,
I hope I can get some help in here.
I have applied for PR through family class 11 month ago (and work permit based on that all together). I had work permit issued 5 month afterwards and started working since I had Implied Status. Now, work permit is only for 1 year(generally is 2) because my national passport expires this Dec. So I have expiring work permit, corresponding work visa AND my national passport expiring all at the same time in December (so, very soon).
I understand I cannot extend work permit until I have a new passport number. I was not aware of new regulations of my country's passport renewal procedure and found out it takes now 3 month to receive new passport.
My question is what status will I have once all my documents expire and while I'm waiting for passport first and then for work permit renewal? Can I continue working on Implied status because I have PR application in progress? I figured I cannot get any kind of status until I have new passport, which might take a while. I will not be able to apply for work permit extention Before its expiration.
What do I do in this case?

Agreed with the above. You'll need to stop working as soon as your work permit expires and you'll be out of status - unless you've applied to extend your work permit (you need a valid passport to apply to extend your work permit).

Ok I thought so. But Staying in the country (and not working) while waiting for passport is Legal if I'm in process of PR, correct?

Yea I can see. But it's still allowed to stay 90 days i guess. Any suggestions on what to do ?

I assume you've already applied to renew your passport?
