No draw happened since that - that means noone can predict anything.

For you to relax - even Americans have to take IELTS and get ECA. It takes a bit more than a week, technically.
Generally, people have their houses, jobs, schools and children in the USA. How many are going really to move? Less than 10% of those who claimed to move to Canada. And even less of them who will really reach it.

No, there will be no effect whatsoever, trust me. I live in the US and all this talk of "moving to Canada" is just that: talk. Most Americans think they can just pack their bags and arrive in Canada without having to go through immigration.
