I need urgent help to confirm the impact of Political stay (asylum) in Europe on Canadian Immigration Process.

currently, I am living in Sweden under political stay. And, now i would like to apply for Canadian immigration under express entry system. The main application will be my wife who is living in Pakistan.

Please let me know what would be the causes?

No issues. You apply the same way anyone else does.

So, you mean asylum stay will not cause any problem in Canadian visa application?

can you provide me any reference for this, as I am quite worried for this.

at final stage of immigration, police certificate will be required. since I am currently living in sweden, so I will provide their certificate also, any idea if asylum stay will reflect on that. Or Canadian migration consult with Sweden and Pakistani embassy before issuing visa?

your response will be of much help to me!

Your asylum status won't cause any problems as long as you are honest about your immigration history in your application to Canada. I don't think there are any references for this since it's not a problem (again, provided you are 100% honest in your application).

As long as you are applying for PR, it doesn't matter if you are in Sweden as an asylum seeker. It doesn't matter where your wife is. Just be truthful in your application about everything.

However, if you try to apply for a temporary visa, they would not grant it because by seeking asylum in Sweden, you have shown that you do not want to return to your home country so they would see you as a risk to overstay in Canada.
