Hi Iceberg7,

my interview will be next week Tuesday (20.9.) at 10am. :D

Yeah, I've heard about that one, only 3 months valid apparently. pffff....

The UK one is the most dodgy one. 7 forms to complete and 70$ Dollars! If i need 2 i pay only 10$ for every additional PC. At least they send it to my address here. ....Christ...they're spoiling me.....

France is for free, apply online, approx. 2 weeks and will be sent anywhere you want. (preferably Europe)

German, 13Euros, 2 weeks, 1 form to complete, can be send FROM ANYWHERE as long there's is proof of identity, confirmed by a notary, police and any other person who is authorized to do so. Will be sent anywhere you want.

New Zealand will be taken care of the Canadian Embassy in Sydney, Australia which transfers it to Canada.

If someone needs a link, gimme a shout!

BTW,...Do I need a Canadian PC as well? I've heard rumors....I'm here for over a year now....

thank you,
live long and prosper,

Jesus..you, Europeans, are really spoiled indeed!!!!

The French PC is for free & to delivered to "anywhere"?!! wow!!

Please don't ask about the process in my country!! And it's not "deliverable"..you come & get it! :D

Good to know you can manage everything from over there, that would help keep you of stress.

Yes, I believe you'll have to include a Canadian PC as well, since you live there for more than 6 months. Aren't you?! :p

(Hey, Dortmund has just equalized with Arsenal..if you're into football.)

Good luck with your interview next Tuesday.
Let me hear your good news.. ;)

i dont think it makes a difference as to how it is filled. havent seen anything where it mentions that it has to be typed in.

what matters is that whatever you have filled in is legible and clear. the spaces are a little small. so hope u havent filled it like you write on some indian govt forms !! ;-)

Hi Iceberg7,

well, its done. I will get my CSQ in a week. 1st step done. Took 1 hour, easy going. Talking mostly about my profession and job market and why here in Quebec and/or Canada.

I had a certified (!) photocopy of some of my documents, but she insisted to see the original. lucky me i took EVERYTHING with me, ALL ORIGINALS, never mind the certified Copies. Because i still had some documents i actually didn't want to take with me, because if they get lost on my way to the Interview, i would be in serious trouble, THAT "precious" they are ! ::)

Anyway, i just checked the documents i need for the Federal Part. I only checked a couple of weeks ago the Main Application, but looked at the "background declaration" now and thats ....... crazy! I have to list all the adresses where I have lived since the age of 18 ! Are they crazy? I'm 31 years old....isn't this a bit abusive? I cannot even remember all the adresses during my Seasonal Stay in austria 11 years ago. I have to use the Hotel Address, because the staff accomodation wasn't under my name, but at a different location then the hotel. This is going to take me 4 weeks to dig this all out....christ...and i've thought the CSQ "demands" are already "rich". I just lost the motivation to immigrate. I understand background check but that? pfff And the personal history since age of 18 (or last 10 years, whatever comes first) So, since 18, or 10years in my case?

sorry for the rant....i know you went through the same procedure, must have felt the same way. :-[

Can I send the Documents again here at the same Immigration Office in Montreal? Or are there other places responsible for it?
Because on one docoment they ask which Office I want it to be processed...
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EQ74.asp "Consent to Disclosure of Information" PDF
Don't know whether its up to me to complete the TOP of the form of office use.

After the interview she also told me it can take up to 12-14months for the last "step"... Is this true? My work permit is only valid until July 2012,....i've heard rumors that it would be "faster" if you apply from inside Canada.

Thank you,

readya soon,

Hello lepatissier07,

Congratulaaaaations. Really glad you made it..I knew it! ;)

But why you will get it in a week?! why not just after the interview?!!

That's really good you took all original docs with you. It's one of the main purposes of the interview, to verify the originals.

About filling the form, the new one states the following..

"Previous countries of residence:During the past five years have you lived in any country other than your country of citizenship of your current country of residence for more than six months?"

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM0008ENU_2D.pdf

So, that would be much easier..eh?! ;)

As where to submit yout application for permanent residency from whithin Canada, I would suggest you to read the guide..
Sorry, I have no idea..but I'll try to find out.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EQ74.asp

Hopefully, it would be less than that to get your PR visa.

Congratulations.

Hi Iceberg7,

thank you for the quick reply.

Yeah, the form IMM008ENU_2d.pdf i've got, that one is fine. :) Its the background check which sucks. :(

ok, i have to check anyway where to send it if processed from within Canada, i've heard sometimes Vegreville or Buffalo.

I keep you posted. :)

Thanks so far for the assistance in this matter. :)

hi Iceberg07,

hope you're fine ! :)

I just found a "document checklist" for the Federal Part of Immigration and something scared the s**t out of me. I've thought the only thing missing are the PC's and Medical Exam.
Is it true that I have to get AGAIN all my "attestations de travail" and all the documents i already had to give to the Quebec Selection Process ? Please tell me no! This is going to cost me a fortune (not to mention that it is just nuts) to get the additional German Reference letters (which weren't needed for the Quebec process!) all translated.... and notarized... they already have all that stuff for Quebec.

Or is that list only if you apply from the outside?

how did you proceed?

Please give me good news... ???

regards,
lepatissier07

Hello lepatissier07,

I'm fine, thanx.
Hope everything is going fine with you.

Yes, they are needed. I thought you already have them! Don't you?!
In CSQ application, you should've sent copies..while keeping the originals with you for verification during the interview.
Then to use them for the Federal Process (you'll eventually get them back).

That's what I did.

Don't panic..just step in & get all missing docs.

Good luck.

hi iceberg7,

thanks again for your quick reply.

Yes, for the CSQ i've sent certified copies. I would like to avoid loosing original Payslips and Insurance proofs from the last 12 years of 5 different countries in order to get my retirement. Because in all possible immigration office mess, when they are loosing paperwork, i will be told: "ah,..yeah... sorry...we didn't expect that one to happen..." ..... that won't help me then.

So, they don't accept certified copies now ? I have all the originals, and need to get some reference letters translated. and have to send them all i have.

They were asking me for things since my 18th birthday. that was 13 years ago. I don't have the payslips from Austria anymore (German government has them already) from 12 years ago, except reference letters. Can't do much in that case.
I just have to send them all i have with an explanation letter.

In the application paperwork i need to provide my personal history since the 18th birthday (or the past 10 years) whichever comes first.
what kind of a request is that? "....whichever comes first.." ???

bye,
lepatissier07

Hey lepatissier07,

I'm really not sure about that "since my 18th. birthday" thing.
In the new application form, the required experience & places u lived in for more than 6 months in the past 5 years only.

"Previous countries of residence:During the past five years have you lived in any country other than your country of citizenship of your current country of residence for more than six months?"

Don't worry about your original docs, they won't lose'em & you'll get'em back. Don't worry.

Please check again the forms & the guide.

Hey..

I missed this part..where is it?!

"..personal history since the 18th birthday (or the past 10 years) whichever comes first." that means that if you're more than 28 yrs old, you don't have to provide personal history since your 18th. bd

If you're 31..start when you're 21 yol

;)

hi iceberg7,

thanks for the instant reply, that was fast! :)

well, if its like that regarding 31years old, i need to provide only since 21, thats good news already, because then i don't need to provide
stuff from austria 2000/2001 January 'til March, twice. Now its September/October 2011 - makes September/October 2001, and there i've been already in england. nothing german to translate since then. saves time and money! :)

regarding the original docs. guess i have to live with to trust the government. :-X :) i will get myself some certified docs before that, just in case to make myself sleep.

thanks a lot, that helped a lot already ! these immigration papers are getting more and more confusing, what, when and especially HOW they want it.

if i'm wrong with any of assumption above, please feel free to correct me. :)

best regards,
lepatissier07
