Where can I find a good website that list things that I am allowed and not allowed to cross the border with air and land travel? For example. alcohol,cigs,etc. I am thinking about bringing my computer when I drive there this summer. Also I may bring a friend and he has an assualt charge from 7 years ago.. where can I find if he is allowed to cross the border at all!

For what you can or can't bring in the plane, I'd suggest to visit the airline website. They usually have a list with their policies.

As for your friend, I'm not sure.... It also depends where he's from I guess, whether he needs a visa to enter Canada etc.

I have heard that they are very strict about people who have had criminal records but do not know this for sure. It is amazing the "facts" that people will tell you that you later find out are not true. Better check it out with someone in authority.

Your Computer /Laptop: Since a personal computer is not listed under Excluded goods, it is implied that it falls under Included Goods, so you can bring it along.

i received an email for various positions in a hotel in ottawa.  As i comply with their requirements, they informed me that I should contact the HRSDC (Human Resource and Skills Development Canada), and when I did, HRSDC told me to pay $300 canadian dollars for me to obtain my employment clearance. If I cannot submit my clearance, my application will be invalid. I would like to check if this is true.  Where can I check the requirements and fees to get my working visa.  How long will be the processing time and how much will be the total cost for all the fees that needed to be settled.
