Hello Experts - I am about to apply under CEC class. Currently I am in Canada but my work permit will expire by Nov 2013.
While Filling the form it asked for - Immigration Office Requested for processing of Application

- What should I put there ? Ottwa or Office in my Home country
- I may travel back to my home country after Nov 2013 , If I put ottwa now , Can it be changed at later stgae of application ?

Please suggest.

Thanks

Yes you can put Ottawa now and once you move out of country you can get it transferred to New Delhi later.

To the best of my knowledge (others may correct me) once the application starts being processed it will remain at that VO until completed.

I agree with jsm0085. You need not request for a transfer of a file if you move out of Canada. You just need to update Ottawa office with your new communication/mailing address.

However, if Ottawa requests an interview the OP has to travel to Canada for it.

So , From above reply i would assume that , Its always good to put the Immigration office as your Home Country office , Specially when you are moving out in between ?

Also does processing time differ in each offices ?

THanks

If you will be in Canada throughout processing, chose CPP-Ottawa.
If you will move back home during the process for a long period of time, better to choose a visa office in your home country.

Processing may times differ - search CIC's website for details.

13 months is based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all cases between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012.
