Hello All,
First I wish to thank everyone that have contributed, the information in this forum is helpful overall. Specifically:
1. The interview questions for this site is good preparations, as such I advice everyone going for an interview to review and extend this questions.
it was very helpful to me and at least another friend I sent it to.
2. Questions regarding the forms, are all present with helpful replies.
3. It is also a very supportive group, and educative in given one a good feel for the process.

My journey began Jan 2009, when I got married in Nigeria, I was introduced to my wife in 2007, but insisted I met her in person; this happened in December 2009, so we got married(registry only), with very small gatherings and ultra small engagements. We only have pictures for the wedding, and couple of pictures of us being together prior to the marriage. Reading through the forum at first scared me because we had little evidence especially prior to us getting married. I filed in April 2009, approved for sponsorship may 2009. Sent to Ghana for process beginning of June 2009. I most say, this is an emotionally excruciating experience. Thankfully my wife did not make it harder for us.

After waiting till Feb 2010, I wrote letters to all the politicians I can possible think of, and then a month later her interview was scheduled for April 2010 (exactly one year after applying in Mississauga). Fortunately she had a good visa officer that was just focused on the questions, and was friendly. The guy asked tons of questions, relating to the application and questions about relationship easily found on this forum. Three things:
1. Know your partners and papers(both filled application forms).
2. Don't contradicts yourself.
3. Any appearance of lying is dangerous(these guys see lies all the time, they can smell it a mile away).

Interview went fine, and he mentioned that she will need to redo medical, and then she can get her visa. So if the medical have expired, redoing ahead of interview might actually save time. Also it took about 6wks to finally get back to Ghana and pick up her visa.

For me, it was 14months, if the medical was ok, it would have been 12months.

We are just grateful, and thankful, and I am looking forward us been together as ONE.
WOW, what a journey. Thanks to all in this forum.
And good luck to all that is waiting, and remember to pray.
Cheers
Dave

Great its nice to see.Hope you have a great life and good wishes in what ever it is you two decide to do now that your together...... :D

congrats!!! you gave us inspiration :)

Congrats!

One thing I dont understand, why do they make it so hard on people? I just dont get it. Just married couples should not be apart for that long...it can be demolarizing. Especially for immigrants who can sometimes be very lone in this country.

I'm so happy that you have finally reunited with your wife. May you both enjoy a wonderful life together!!!!!!!!

What a long journey. :-[

Thanks to All, it was indeed a long journey. But I am hoping this experience will make us stronger, and am sure it will for the rest of the people that have gone through the "grind". Also as far as I know, most of my friends sponsoring their wife's have been given visa in Ghana. So out of 6 people only one was refused. So it is possible that positive changes are happening in the office in Accra.
Good luck to all!
Dave
