Immigrating to Canada as skilled worker, what about partner?

Hi there,

I would like know if I would be granted permission to move to Canada as skilled worker, what would happen with my partner? Could we move together regardless of what education or experience she has to live pernamently?

Would we need to get married in this case?

Also, I have done a quick test online to check if I get enough points on my application to apply as skilled worker and seen that I get some points for my partner's education (or maybe spouse?), like a University degree for example.

What happens if I do not have a spouse or my partner is not part of the application process? Do I just lose the points I would otherwise get if my partner/ spouse was educated?

You must include your partner in your application if your are either married or common law (common law means you have lived together for a minimum of one full year). Otherwise you cannot include your partner in your application.
