I know this questions has probably been asked 100 hundred time. But I am still confused as ever about the process of immigrating to Canada. My partner and I were married in Montreal last year and have been planning to get to Canada asap.
We have passorts and are US born citizens.
Currently we are loookinig for work, but seem to be having no luck in that department.
We have also begun looking for housing.

Can someone please explain the process to me and tell me what we need to do to expedite the process? I have heard some people say that it has taken the years to get any type of response from Ca immigration.

What is the easiest was for us to get through this and to be in Canada quickly?
I know there are lawyers out there that say they can get you there, but they seem to charge a small fortune and we just can't do that.

Is it easier for US born people to immigrate to Canada? What documents do we need to have?

And if anyone knows of any businesses that are looking to hire foreigners in PR or management please also respond.

Thank you

Start your research here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assess/index.asp by taking the assessment to see if either of you qualify.
All the information required is at www.gc.ca the official site.
Unless either of you are able to get an approved skilled job and a work permit for Canada, then you will be looking at years for your application to be processed from the US. You could investigate the PNP programs in the various provinces.
