Hello!
Just wondering if anyone could help me out. I've been working in Canada for almost a year (have just over 2 months left), and I've decided to try and extend my stay but as a visitor instead of a worker. I'm pretty sure I have the right form - IMM5708, but find it to be quite bizarrely worded in parts!

Question 3 has got me completely stumped:
3.) I am applying for one or more of the following:
Extension of my temporary resident status
Initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary resident permit
Restoration of temporary resident status as a visitor

They all sound rather ambiguous to me so if anyone could shed some light on which one I should choose it would be very much appreciated!
Thanks in advance :)

1) - Extend Visit Visa
2) - Extend Work Permit
3) - Restore status within 3 months if overstayed

I feel like I'm being really stupid now, but I'm still not sure which applies to me. I'm not extending anything, I'm switching from a working visa to a tourist visa. Would that just be the first one?
This process is so silly. It says one thing on one page and contradicts it completely on the next. It's driving me crazy! Thanks for the help.

Anyone got any idea which one I need to pick? I've tried calling the CIC call centre 5 times today, after going through all the keypad options I just get the 'due to the volume of calls we're receiving, we are unable to transfer you to an agent'. Super frustrated.

If you are currently a temporary resident in Canada with valid status (that is, a valid study or work permit), you can now apply for a new temporary resident visa to return to Canada before you leave
