Hi all,
Sorry for starting two threads in one morning! Again, I've looked for people in similar situations but don't seem to have found much regarding our particular situation.
When filling in the part of the form that asks for my spouse's (the sponsors) five year employment history, my spouse hasn't actually had employment for five years. In regards to the past five years, the first three he supported himself solely via savings and the last two has been welfare. He is now employed and hasn't been receiving welfare for over three months.
I've seen other replies mentioning that if a sponsor has recently been on welfare we would need to provide a solid financial plan for how we would support ourselves. We plan to be honest (obviously) and include the following information:
- a letter stating he is no longer receiving welfare
- bank statements showing funds of around $3000 CAD from my bank account from my wages before I left the UK (we're doing Inland)
- A letter from his mother stating she will financially support us if need be
- A letter from my parents stating they will financially support us if need be
- An email from my old boss (I worked in Canada on an IEC) stating that as soon as I have my OWP I will get an interview to get my old job back
Will this be enough? Will his five year history make him potentially ineligible to sponsor? As far as I'm aware there isn't an amount he needs to be earning and he just needs to be off welfare.
Many Thanks
TJ
