Hi,

I will be sponsoring my common-law partner from the UK. We are currently living and working in Australia but will be moving back to Canada soon after we submit the Sponsorship Application.
I have question relating to filling out employment history. I was unemployed from 2017- 07 to 2019- 06 because my partner and I were travelling long-term. We supported ourselves with savings during this time. Wondering how best to explain this on the form. Should we show proof of airline tickets, hotel bookings etc?

You will be mentioning those dates in the history mentioning you were unemployed along with brief reasoning. You may further explain it in detail in a separate letter of explanation but at the same time this employment gap will not be an issue as there's no minimum funds or earnings requirement as long as you're not on welfare.
