Dear Friends,

In IMM 5490 Of immigration forms , it asks spouse if I am sending any money to her for her maintenance in India. But we recently got married and I just came back from India trip, I did not send any but she is living with my parents and also I have a joint account with my spouse and it has some of Indian currency in it for her expenses , can I show that saying yes to 30 th question or say no? Please let me know, I can provide that bank statement in India,

Also it asks if she gave any gifts to me or if I gave any gifts to her , is that before or at the time of marriage,
Do we need to specify engagement ring and wedding ring etc..
Please let me know.

Thanks,

Thanks,

you can put yes, and explain, OR you can put NO and explain more or less as you did here : you don't send her money on a monthly basis, but you do contribute, because she is living with your parents, the common bank account, etc. the idea of the application is to reflect the reality as closely as possible - so if a question doesn't apply totally to you, then add a separate sheet, put the reference of the question (application spousal sponsorship/name, form number xxx/questionxx) and explain your situation. And of course :add proofs of what you are saying.
gifts: the same. If yes, then explain, put pictures, or receipts if you have them. just explain in details your situation, and it should go well!
Good luck,
Sweden

You can say YES to both and put notes to explain briefly. These questions are for their assessment about your relationship with your spouse.
