IMM 5406 birth details for deceased parents

My Bro-in law is filling up this form and his parents have passed away. But he does not know their birth details. Is it absolutely required to fill up those details? What does he put in?

In your Bro-in-law case, on the "Place of Birth" & "Date of Birth" coloumns of his mom & dad, I will put "unknown"; and on the "address" coloumn, I will put "deceased".

Put Late ( Mr..........) & Late ( Mrs.........) on the name area and while sending do not forget to send across their death certificates.
