On this form is asks in Section C for the names and address of your brothers and sisters.

Unfortunately my family is really not close and I haven't seen or spoken to three of my siblings for years and have no idea where they might live. Does anyone think its a problem if I put their names, date of births and then unknown in the address box?

Hmmmm, Well I woulds say yes, if you really can't get this information obviously attache letter of explination. It's life, so I don't think it's a problem. Just write enough that the IO understands the situation, maybe why it happened and believes it. That's all!

No particular reason, we just don't get on, and never have and seriously I'm an adult, almost 40, why on earth do they want this information anyway? I've not had any contact with one of my brothers for almost 20 years, I moved away and never heard from any of them again. I'm pleased they're not asking for my parents address as well, because I don't even have any idea of what that is. Also on my husband's sponsorship forms, I've also had to put unknown for his father's address, as he has the same sort of issue, as in they have been estranged for a good 10 years or so, and so he has no idea what his address is.

Oh, but my grandmother and one of my brothers with my sister in law and nephews did actually fly from Australia to UK for out wedding, so we did have some family there.

But, surely they don't expect everyone to have perfect little 2.5 children families where everyone gets on and has a lovely little life? This is just normal for me, and I don't think anything of it as I've lived with it for years, and its not until I had to go and fill in these forms that I wonder if it will look really odd.

Hmmmm, I can remember my wife having to put her parents address, but not 100% sure of that. Like I said, it's like your situation and I don't think you will get denied for that as there's nothing you can do. All you can do is make them understand the situation. Make sure you fill in all the blanks, that's all you can do.

I have no idea what they do with this, I think it's just for them to understand where your family stands with the whole thing...If they didn't attend the marriage and they lived in the same city, speculation comes to their mind. It's all assumptions, another reason could be a background check on them to make sure they weren't involved in terrorism or major crimes. All I can do is guess...

As I said, just make sure you explain the facts and I wish you the best! :)

You can put 'unknown' for the addresses, and any other info they ask for, but you must then attach a separate sheet of paper and explain the details. Put what you know, and then explain why you don't know the rest.
It will not hurt your application - the visa officers realize not everyone gets along with their family members. Stress in the 'wedding' section that you did have other family members from both sides.

I think that is purely for Immigration to know if there is possibility in the future of you sponsoring your family once you become a PR. If you don't put anything then I don't think they would accept you to sponsor your sister for example in the future. But I don't think this is going to be a problem for you since you don't speak with them anyways.

Thanks everyone for you help with this, I'll just add in another piece of paper, I have so many of them already explaining the situation.
