I am a Canadian citizen and have two kids who are also Canadian citizens from my divorced spouse.
I am sponsoring my new spouse in the outland Family class. My question is do I include my two kids in the Dependents boxes? The question on Imm008 is very confusing and I quote :

On the main page, "You must provide details about each of your family members, whether they will come with you to Canada or not. You must list all your children even if they are already permanent residents or citizens of Canada). "
when you want to add a new dependant you get this quote:
'You must include your spouse, or common-law partner, if applicable, and all of your children, and those of your spouse who are not already permanent residents or citizens of Canada.'

so the first one tells us to include all dependants even if they are Canadian or PR, 2nd one tells don't to include them?

thank you

Historically for the IMM0008 (before online) it was quite clear, do NOT include. Now the instructions are confusing but still believe it is the second statement that 'reigns' for this section.

[It is true you must include INFORMATION about all children elsehwere in the application, and very important that any children who are not citizens or PRs be included, but not in this dependents section of IMM0008.]

Plus including children acc to the confusing instructions seems to delay things (they get requests for medicals that are nonsensical).

So I say no. But up to you.

I would say no - what's imperative is if your spouse include their children, if applicable. The purpose is for medical exam requests to ensure the person being sponsored is not inadmissble and their children are not indadmissible (your spouse can be deemed inadmissible if their kids are) so if your children are already here, they wouldn't need to undergo any testing like that. If your spouse has children, keep in mind it does significantly delay processing though - i'm currently dealing with this now (my spouse is in Canada but his children are overseas)

I'm still reading both statements in the context of the person being sponsored, not the person sponsoring.
