IMM 0008 Update

Welp. There was no update when I looked November 29th.

Mailed my app Nov 30th.

Purolator delivered it Dec 01. I'm screwed, right? Theyre gonna send my whole application back?

Not necessarily. It's possible they may just ask for updated forms - or that they won't ask at all. I wouldn't assume the worst just yet.

Yeah but they're not gonna look at it for over a month, right? The whole AOR thing. I'd rather not wait 40 days, have them send it back, and re submit. Can I not just send the new IMM 0008.. somehow? God I'm mad.

I saw you in the December 2015 thread when you found out

You don't want this package coming back trust me I've been through it

Like the others said - there's probably a grace period and you will be fine

You said in your other post that you mailed the app before the change occurred on their website. This means that you have signed and DATED it in various points on a date before Dec. 1st. So due to this information they'd have when looking at your application, I think you'll be safe. If they need this form they'll probably ask via an additional documents request.

Personally I would call, you don't want to delay anything during the process. It is a quick fix, if they say you need the newest form, you can fill it out attach to an email and it is done. There have been a few things that we needed to correct and it was done in less than a day.

I would also be interested in what this means. I sent my docs in Nov 24th before this form existed. I sure hope CIC doesn't expect a new form sent in.

Well the call centre wasn't helpful. They were just like well it's up to the officer who opens the application you'll just have to wait and see.

I've been hearing a lot about this call centre... sorry.

Someone on another thread said if you or sponsor can even speak a fair amount of French to communicate and listen, the French telephone assistants are more helpful. I'm not sure, I have a fluent French speaking husband but I've yet to try to call CIC. From all the horror stories I tend to view that as the last resort.

I'd wait on this. If it comes down to it, they'll send you a doc request. They won't just flat out send it back IMO.

One of my friends is an immigration lawyer, so I'll talk to him on Monday and see what he says. I'll post back as soon as I have an answer. Either way, don't get so worried! I do remember reading somewhere on the CIC homepage that there actually is some kind of a grace period for this. I just can't remember where I read it.

I just did a side-by-side comparison of the current and previous version of IMM 0008, and I didn't find any differences. Whatever change they've made must be very minor, possibly even technical to ensure that validation works with the newest version of Adobe Reader which was also released in November.

Oh my gosh thank you that would be wonderful. I really don't know what day it updated. I checked it on the 29th and I swear I didn't see the new form, but maybe I was just having a blind moment. I haven't seen anyone state what day it was. And yeah, there are no differences in the forms at all, just the date at the bottom. Still, I sent in a technically outdated form..
