Like document number, country of issue and stuff...

National identity document of the country you are a citizen of, not Canada.

Not all countries have national identity cards. If your country of citizenship does not, then leave it blank.

Ok thanks!! I'm a German citizen so I'm required to have either a passport or national id document but we're not required
to possess both. So I'm good just filling out the passport field I guess?

Yes, if I remember correctly there's a checkbox that asks you whether you have a National ID and you can answer no to that.

I have both passport and a national ID. The problem is, my national ID has no issue/expiry date. It's just my name, address and gender
Can I just provide my passport information, and click "no" for national ID?

Or do I need to provide both?

I have my Canadian Drivers license, if that help..

I'm an Iranian citizen registered as UNHCR refugee in another country. want to apply for IMM0008ENU_2D but at the section of National Identity document i dont know i should put My birth certificate ( shenasname ) or i can use my passport at this section.

A birth certificate is a birth certificate, not a national identity card.
A passport is a passport, not a national identity card.

Apparently, Iran does have a National Identity Card:

If you do not have this card, you should include a Letter of Explanation.

Thank you for referring . I got my answer, although since 5 years ago Birth certificate and NIC cards are the same for new borns, also if you apply for secondary of your Lost Birth certificate or National Identity Card, it gonna be both in one document.

I know U.S. uses social security number but it has no issue date or expiration date.

The USA does not have a national identity document. You simply check "No" and the rest will be greyed out.

Can i give Aadhar Card Number for India ? Also do i need to give any photocopy along with application.

If we provide Adhar as the national identitity doc for India, do we also need to submit a translated copy of Adhar? The Logos have some non-english words..
