Good day house,
I have permanent resident and travelling in 54hours time. I went to my bank, Fidelity Bank in Nigeria, yesterday and they said they were limited to issuing $8000 for myself and my wife and we need $17,000 to travel with.
Please I need advise on what to do. Can I get a written letter from the bank stating my account balance and the dollar value? Please advise.

You don't have to bring all your assets in cash to land. A signed letter stating the dollar value and a statement will work. If you have another bank you can do an interbank xfer to double the limit.

Hi,

If I understood correctly, you got your PR visa and travelling to Canada to finish your landing. In fact I haven't seen any one here who were asked for the proof of funds at the time of landing. So, the best way is to carry Cash $8000 with you and for the remaining money ask your bank to provide you with some document that shows you still have funds in your Nigeria bank account. Just in case if it's not possible to get that letter from the bank in a short period of time, you can just print your account information using "Print Screen" on your computer.

But like I said, usually they do not ask you for the proof of funds...per my knowledge 99.99999% they will not ask for it.

Good luck my friend.

Thanks,
Sarayu.
