I'm on a working holiday visa. Do I still get EE points from a job offer without an LMIA?

My boss is giving me a work permit when my working holiday visa expires in April. That work permit will have LMIA which will give me points in my EE application.
Should I just wait until April, then create my EE application?
or should I ask my boss to give me the work permit now, despite having 6 months left on my working holiday visa?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
