I just recently got engaged to my boyfriend who lives in Porto Rico, I am a Canadian citizen, born and raised. We want to get married here in Canada and he wants to live here with me. I'm confused as to how we would get this process rolling for him to move here and get his legal standing here. I've read that he should come with a visitors visa that he stated he is engaged to a Canadian and we intend to get married. Thing is I've also read that this may end up in getting him denied his visitors visa. So I wonder if he comes with a visitors visa and we get married then do we apply for the spousal sponsorship or is there something I'm missing in this?

I'd recommend you move over to the Family Sponsorship section of the forum and post your question there.
