Hey folks,

Im new to the forum, and in a bit of a crisis....My mom has been sick the past 6-7 months with cancer, and we decided to have an earlier wedding ceremony for my mom to be able to see it in Turkey, where my wife is from. The docs ok'd my moms flight, we came and had the wedding on September 5th, but last week my mom passed away in hospital here in Turkey due to complications that arose from the cancer. Im deeply distraught, I lived with my mom back in Canada and took care of her....I dont have any other family aside from my younger sister who also needs support but I do have a wife here in Turkey where I am now. Im having a super difficult time with my moms death, and need to get back home because I have a business to run and a house to empty now....I cant find the courage to do this on my own, I do need my wife's support....I cant even imagine taking a step into our house in Canada at the moment. Is there anything I can do in terms of tourist visas to get my wife to come back with me even temporarily just to help me get through what is teh most difficult time Ive ever faced in my life? Any help would be appreciated.

As a side note, I was going to file my wife's papers the normal way as soon as I got home, but I need her help now as I have no one else back home in Canada. Shes a university teacher here, and has all the qualifications needed to apply as a normal immigrant, as do I....but again, its this particular situation where I need her to come home with me, otherwise my life is going to be a mess in Canada.

Thank you

Unfortunately your only option is to apply for a regular tourist visa. However you can certainly include a letter explaining what has happened and why you want your wife with you in Canada.

To be approved, CIC will want assurances that your wife has strong ties to her home country and has no plans on remaining in Canada long term. So make sure she includes any relevant proof (e.g. proof of employment, proof of property ownership, etc.).

My condolences for your loss.

Thank you for the reply,

Im afraid as well to do the tourist visa thing because lets say she gets rejected, that would probably affect her regular immigration papers as well then no? Its a confusing situation, and its tough to get any type of guidance especially here....so I do truly appreciate your reply.

No - one refused tourist visa should have no impact on her PR application. Go ahead and apply.

Thank you very much again,

Ill try my best and see what happens....hopefully our Canada can do this one thing for me.
