HI
I am the main applicant and my spouse has not yet appeared in ilets exams. If my points are exceeding 67 can i send my spouse ilets results later will they accept her result and will award 5 points .Please advise and my second question is there any critaria of cic for applicant who are on same page like one who is scoring 68 points and other who is scoring 72 points is there any extra margin for person who is scoring more point if both are applying in same cataogory.
Thanks
Adeel

No - you can't send the IELTS later for additional points. If you want the additional points then the spouse's IELTS results must be included with the original application.

I don't understand your second question. The criteria is the same for everyone. You must score at east 67 points.

Hello aazhar,

For your first point, I agree with scylla. You cannot send your spouse IELTS later. If you try to do so it will not be accepted so the question of any addition to your points doesn't arise.

And to answer your second question; if you are thinking that having more points will get you into higher priority, then that is not the case. Applicants with higher number of points do not get any advantage over applicants with low points. So if you already have more points than the pass mark of 67 then waste no time in sending your application.

Best of luck

Time for the cap to reach varies widely. Hot NOCs get filled within a few weeks especially IT and finance fields. Other more specialized field take more time.

If you are the principal applicant, then I'm afraid you will not be eligible to apply under FSW with that score (Listening 5.5). You need to score at-least 6 in each module. So, you will have to retake the exam.

To claim 5 points for spouse, your husband needs to score atleast CLB 4, i.e. Listening: 4.5, Reading: 3.5, Writing: 4.0, Speaking: 4.0

No - you definitely cannot send two sets of IELTS results. You need to score a minimum of 6 in each category in ONE single test to qualify to apply for FSW. At this time you do not qualify to apply and will have to take the test again.

You will get 16 points for yourself (4+4+4+4) and 5 points for your spouse. Extra IELTS score does not contrubute to your CIC points, you either get 5 pts or nothing for your spouse's language skills.

Sorry that was a typo. I have already corrected it. Of course you will get 16 points for yourself and 5 points for your wife. Please refer to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/language-testing.asp and to the IMM 7000 Guide.

hello,

kindly clarify if IELTS for spouse is compulsory.

thanks
hi i believe its not a compulsary. though it will help you gain +5 points in your total FSW score so if you think you are in the edge of 67 points, better if you ask him to do it and make sure to get atleast CLB level 4 in all parts (reading , listening, speaking, writing). check in the site under ADAPTABILITY :)
