Hi,

My parents came to Canada on Immigration in March 2010. They went back to INDIA in the same year end of November 2010.

Few years later, in October 2013 they came to Canada because I insisted them to come to Canada before their Immigration expires. I live in Ottawa, so they lived through the harsh Winter. After seeing this year's harsh winter they realized that they can't live here any more. They are thinking that it's hard to maintain Immigration if they have to stay here in these winters. I have to say that they liked the Summers here. I have only one sibbling. We both are living in Canada.

My parents wants to come and visit us in Summers, might not be every summer but every 2 years.

My question is:
If they let go of their Immigration, can they come as visitors to Canada to visit us in Summers?

Thanks.

They can certainly submit an application to come to Canada as visitors. However none of us here can tell you if they would be approved or not.

Yes, they can apply for a visa or a super visa but this will require them to provide their own health insurance. Can they not try and maintain their PR status?

In order to keep the RO obligation they need to spend 730 days within Canada in every 5 year period. According to the info you provided, their PR card expire in March 2015. It seems like they have spent in or around 15 months in Canada already. If they can manage to stay until Jan or so, then they can apply to renew their PR....

Going Forward, if they can come for 5 months or so every summer to Canada, they should be able to meet the RO requirement as they currently stand
