There is an option in the sponsor application to continue processing PR for family member if I refused as a sponser. How can they continue processing the PR for (my wife for example) if I am refused? Can she still come to canada if refused? is that what it means? It makes no sense how it can be refused and application for PR continues? the whole spouce application is to sponser her to canada and so she gets a PR card.

the option will allow the application to continue to process. But if the sponsor is refused, the application will be refused at the end. It's just a longer wait to get the answer of final refusal.

So whats the point of choosing that? It says if i get refused as sponser, the appliation will continue to process. How will it process if i am refused?

I thought it's better to choose Proceed so you can appeal later? that is what I was told. Is this incorrect?

It is there for the potential of a Humanitarian and Compassionate consideration of the sponsorship for the principal applicant. It's a faint hope. It's typically not worth considering as H&C applications are very hard to get approved.
