if my MPNP application have not got approval , can i apply for close work permit ?

my situation is my open work permit will expire on 15 of March and I have sent my mpnp application on 5 of January.
I called MPNP office last friday and the officer told me i will get letter this week but i have not got anything , and I called office today and the officer told me if i won't get letter next Tuesday , called back again....so I am very worried about that..my company already get called from officer and said to officer can support me to close work permit.
is it possible to apply close work permit first and upload mpnp letter and WPSL later ?

Do you have an approved LMIA from the employer? If so you can apply for a closed work permit. Process will take months but you can change your status to visitor (stop working). Have you been nominated or just sent in your application.
