I arrived in Canada at the end of 2019 acompanying my wife. She had a employer-especific work permit but she was Laid Off after 5 months. I keep working and I want to apply for the Permanent Residence after a Year to the Quebec Experience Program since I hold a Job Level 2 under the NOC. Now she got a new job and she is going to renew her work permit. If I make an extension of my Open Work Permit with her new work permit, can I still apply to PR after the year? Or I have to wait 2 years as the new laws affect to people who get their Work Permit after 22 July? Thanks so much.
