hi there

I applied for my bowp in dec but not yet received my AOR, which means I am on implied status. But I think I will not receive the AOR on time. So, can i eligible to apply visitor visa with restoration status.
Please help urgent..
Thanks

I believe Yes but wait for other's opinion too.

there were few guys here that got extension of WP for 3-4months only to wait for the AOR and then apply for BOWP

If you have applied for BOWP already then wait for their decision. If they deny it, they will give you 90 days to restore your status. Within those 90 days you can apply for a visitor permit. If you meet all the criteria, they will issue a visitor permit up to 6 months.

From there if your PR application is still going on, you can try to extend your permit for another 6 months.

I suggest that you wait for the decision on your BOWP and then try to get a visitor permit. This is of course if you want to stay in the country. Whilst on visitor permit, you neither can work nor study! Make sure you have enough money to survive.

Best of luck mate,

When you say that do you mean with out and lmia or lmo ?

No you can't. implied status means already applied for a status and worrying for the new one to come.
Being or applying for being on two status at a time is illegal.
If you already had your original status active you could cancel this one and apply for another one.
Now you can wait for this one to expire and then apply for a new onE with restoration.

Call add-on immigration lawyer and clear this point.
You dont rely on forums for such important and critical things.

OMG ! You are so mistaken ! A student can apply for a work permit and vice-versa. Since when is illegal to apply for two different permits ?

Follow Rezalc advise , wait for the decision and apply to restore your status as a visitor. Unfortunally you won't be able to work until you get a decision on you PR or get an LMIA. You need to prove you have enough funds to support yourself until a decision is made on your PR application.

When did you submit your application ? If it was After mid October, you won't get an AOR. Cap was reached around Oct 20, 2014.

just to clarify with you guys. I hold PGWP and decided to go back to school. CIC gave me a study permit and I asked them if I needed to return the PGWP.
They asked me to keep it, and I am qualified to go for work until PGWP running out.

1. Bad advice from the call misinformation centre
2. Once you have the study permit, your PGWP is no longer valid.
3. If you are attending a designated school, then you are restricted to 20 hours per week during term and full time during semester breaks.
