Hi All,

Please guide, One of my fathers very close friend who happened to have same surname, owe money to some peoples.

He himself left the country,some how they got our cell number the people who they owe money are threatening us if we do not tell where are they.
they will come for us and we don't have any clue where are they.

we are very scared I have small kids were not sending them to school,we have reported to police.

we are in Canada on TRV, we travel a lot been to Canada before.

I suggest you see an immgration lawyer, and asked them what your chances of applying for refugee

IMO this sounds like a matter for local police, not a reason to claim refugee status.

thanks for your reply, local police was unable/ they didn't want to help that's why we flee to Canada
 
Rob_To is right because ircc will see it as not serious, if you were getting death threats different story that is why consult with an immgration lawyer

thanks for your reply, sorry my bad typo mistake they were giving us death threats,they will kidnap our kids.
we are still in trauma, please advise if you know any good lawyers.

Let me see there is David cohen he owns this site, I dunno if our representative does refugee we did inland spousal sponsorship our journey started december 2015 my husband did landed April 28,2017 took 18 months yours will take longer
 
you can apply for a refugee claim, Canada provides protection to people who need it the most, but as in your case, you are saying that you came to canada fleeing your financiers, your case will not be strong enough to convince the board member. if you go to a lawyer they will advice you to file for refugee, take advice from professional people. as per your case details the chances of getting protection is not much. any ways best of luck.

Agreed. This does not sound like grounds for a refugee claim.

Do you have proof that you have contacted local police or higher branches of your country police first. In such case you need first to prove that you have exhausted all possibilities of protection of your own country. (for example - one verbal rejection from some local police officer is surely not enough).
So whom exactly did you contact and did you receive some official negative answer on this matter.
Further what evidence do you have about these threats.
Can they be solved by you changing your phone number or changing living address within your home country?
