What is the language requirements for candidates with UK University degree and work experience for express entry??

Thanks for your reply! I had IELTS written few years ago for my Masters in Sussex University and I am currently working and living in the UK.
Is it mandatory still to take up ielts for express entry in this case??

IELTS scores last for 2 years. You will need these unexpired results to apply under Express Entry.

I am a natural born US Citizen with 18 years of schooling through Master's all in the USA. Still had to take the IELTS.

Yup everyone does, no way around it.

I'm English and had to take the English test. It's just the way it goes

Especially nowadays with the CRS system, since language results affect your score it's a good way of filtering out out candidates that would otherwise have the same score for all other areas, eg; 2 candidates with identical education/experience scores, one has better language test scores, they rank higher.

yep, everyone has to take it regardless of your native language.

The only way around IELTS is...CELPIP or the French exam.

I'm in the same boat (Australian). I just took the exam on saturday the 10th. It takes 13 days for them to post results so I am playing the waiting game!

Not sure what scores your interested in, we all have all types of scores

As a native English speaker I scored 9/9/8.5 writing/9 on the IELTS. It was quite easy as a native, but the listening was the most troublesome as one has to stay focused and not get lost in the narration. Taking a few practice exams before sitting the exam is a must.

I'm now studying for the TEF and realize what many are facing on the IELTS as 2nd language testing. I will have 427* points now, but will lose 10 in March as I gain one year in age. So depending on the draws I may need to take the French exam to bump my score back up. Studying daily, (My wife is native French, so it's useful and I have a great tutor ;D)

* Technically only have 417 at the moment, awaiting ECA for my wife's Master's, possibly by the 1st draw. Everything was mailed to WES on Jan 6th.

Did your wife complete her Masters in UK aswell? If yes, could you please let me know what specific department at her institute did she contact for sending the documents? I did my Masters and PhD from KCL and cant seem to figure out which department im supposed to contact there.

I would talk to the registrar for the school you were a part off. That's what I did. I completed my Bachelors from Middlesex University and I talked to the registrar of the School of Business.
