So my husband took the IELTS test before we were married - while we were engaged. Knowing that we were going to be applying for spousal sponsorship after we were married we mistakenly thought that it was required for spousal sponsorship and that it would help. We were also mislead by friends who thought they knew the process. Now I'm worried that even though the results we were given to send were not sent to CIC with our application they will see them under my husband's client ID history (is there such a thing?) and think that it was suspicious....

Our application has been in progress with CIC Vegreville for nearly 7 months now, so I am well into the anxious/paranoid stage... am I over-thinking this or is this a legitimate concern for us?

Yes, you are over thinking this. The IELTS will just be ignored, if in fact CIC even know about it.

I took IELTS before the sponsorship and it was not an issue. You don't have to worry .
