I was concern about my IELTS Score as calculated.

Hi All,

My IELTS Score is as below:

Listening : 5 Basic
Reading : 5.5 Moderate
Writing : 6 Moderate
Speaking : 5 Basic
Overall Band : 5.5

Please tell anyone if this is sufficient Band. I am really tensed as I dont feel them good.
Otherwise my points are not less.

I am PG
Expe More 4 years
Age : 10 points
Husband is also PG and have more then 4 years of experience.

Now please tell where I stand in terms of points.

You calculated your English proficiency as Moderate in all, but you got Basic in two, Listening and Speaking. Your overall score is good to go, as you have 67 even with these 6 points from IELTS. But I will personally recommend give one more try to IELTS for achieve at least moderate in all. So you will have some extra points to play around.

Your Writing is 6(!!!) but Listening 5, Reading 5.5 and surprisingly Speaking 5???
What's up with that?!!!
Spend a month on improving and I can guaranty you that you will get +1 (maybe for Listening and Reading +2) point on all the parts.

5 Arranged Employment 10 - 0
6 Adaptability 10 - 5
Total Score 100 - 69

Here I was confused for Language and I selected as Moderate for Englsih and '0' for French. Please tell if my calculation is correct.

Your language ability points is only 6. L= 1(basic) R=2(moderate) W=2(moderate and S=1(basic). you can check this at http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf

Hi as my score is not good but my total comes to good even if I go with these points.

I dnt have time to attend another exam.

Will it affect in giving me immigration if my score is less or it woudl not matter at all. It should be 67 points.

You are on border line. Its better to appear for IELTS again to improve your points.

But I dont have time now to apear for another Exam. have to submit my documents now in next month.

meena, you calculated with 25 points in your education and you say you are fine on the points scale. as long as you are sure that your education is worth 25 points and not 22, you should be fine.

Yes I have done MCA (PG Course) in 2003 and have more then 4 years of experience.

So I get full marks in both of them. For age also I am getting 10. My husband is also PG.

Now tell should I appear for another Exam.

If I am touching Border Line i.e. 67 then will it affect in getting the Immigration.....

as long as its confirmed 67, no problem and no need to sit another ielts exam. if for your own peace of mind, you wanna sit another ielts exam, its your call. you still have the time by the way, if you want to.
