IELTS Re-evaluation

Hello everyone,

I got my IELTS results today written through IDP. These are my results,

L- 8

R- 7.5

W- 6.5

S- 7.0

Because of 0.5 reduction in Writing I am missing out on CLB Level 9.

Can I go go for re-eval in Writing module only. Also, I am very confident of getting at least 7 band score. This will give me a point boost of around 50 points.

Any comments or suggestions will be highly appreciated.

why don't you it for the remark?! you can ask them to only remark your writing. That's what happened with me, they gave me 6.5 for writing and my other band were 8.5. So I sent it for a remark and the score changed to 7.5. So I think it's worth it if you send it for remark

I am in the same boat, L 8.5, R 8.5, W 6.5 and S 7.5. I sent my score for re marking around two weeks ago, have to wait for another 4-6 weeks for the result.

I sent my enquiry on result 8th May. As soon as I receive the result, I'll let you know

Thank you Meysam. I am going for re-mark in writing. Its a real headache to write IELTS again to reach close to CLB Level 9. Hoping for the best.

I share your opinion that they reduce the score delibarately. I think it's a way of getting money. I know people who took IELTS 5-10 times to achieve the needed score, and each time they had to pay couple hundred $

Oh dear I am going for re-marking, read in many blogs that if you are confident in Writing there is a good chance for a score increase if we are looking for 0.5 increase. If it is for reading or listening, it is pretty hard as per the website,

Hi Did you go for reevaluation and did it help?
With the current IELTS scores of mine and my husband's our CRS is at 439. My husband is short of 0.5 for the magic score of 8777 and wants to go for a EOR or re evaluation which takes 8 to 10 weeks. My question is that if he goes for a reevaluation and I am the primary applicant, can we still put our profile in express entry? Incase his score goes up, can I update the details in my profile then? Please let me know.
