After going through the Pros & Cons of Computer Delivered IELTS, I've decided to go for Paper based test. The sole reason being Listening. I understood that to get high a CRS score, 8.0 & above is needed in the listening section. I need more information on Listening section to familiarize myself with the format of the exam.

I know that there are 4 sections(passages) with 40 questions & 10 questions per each section & total time is 30 minutes & additional 10 minutes to transfer answers.
I would like to know how does the exam start?

Do we a separate booklet for each exam?
1. Assuming that we have a separate booklet for each exam, Do we have time to go through questions & answers of each section before we can listen?
2. If yes, how much time is provided to go through the questions?
3. Does the speaker in the recording pause to give us time to go through the questions, say 30 seconds, & then start the conversation?

Regards,
