Hello,
I am from the US and I am trying to apply for the Canadian Express Entry and I had done a lot of research and found out that I had to take the IELTs exam. When I researched whether I should take the general or the advanced test, I found out that advanced is the better option for me becuase I want to work in a professional field in Canada. So I took the advanced test and I got very good results. When I started my application it says that they accept the general test. I keep calling them and they don't either pick up or can't help. Please help me and advise me on what to do. I can take the test again only because it's too far from where I live and even the first time was a hassle.
Thank you!!

I am afraid you will have to retake the IELTS. Canada only accepts IELTS general training for immigration. The other one is academic (not advanced) and is for ones that apply for higher education.

To echo the above - General is your only option for immigration. Academic is not accepted.

Are there any other applications that accept the academic test that I can apply for to immigrate to Canada?

The only language tests accepted for Canadian immigration are IELTS General and CELPIP (both for English) and TEF (for French).

So no matter under which program you apply, you will have to write another language test. There's no getting around that fact.
