Can you apply for PR under CEC if you spend one year under IEC working as a sheet metal worker ?
Thank you

iam_toby said:Yes, IEC is only a work permit and not an immigration program. However, if you gain the 12 months of full-time work experience
required for CEC on an IEC work permit, you're all good.
I did the same.

CEC2013 said:I'll second that. I'm also coming from an IEC background and have successfully gotten through the AOR stage. What happens next depends on what your app is like. So, dont worry about IEC, focus on your application and supporting documents (i.e. reference letter and so forth).
Speaking of this actually, to give you some hope....my buddy who also came through IEC just got MR and RPRF, and no special concerns on his file about IEC. Good luck then eh!![]()

Iwant to apply for the CEC when the time comes BUT i wiil have these 6 days gap. I spoke with an immigration officer and he told me tha to apply foe the CEE you must have at least 12 mounths work exp. nothing more. Can any one help me with that?
LPS said:Yes you need no less than 12 months full-time (or equivalent) experience.
Your best option will be to apply for another IEC, complete the remainder of the 12 months experience, and then apply for CEC. If you cannot get another IEC (for example, you have reached the age limit) then you'll need to get some other kind of work permit, such as your employer arranging to hire you as a foreign worker.
Dimitris said:That's so unfair. There's any chance to get a small extent on my work permit to fill these 6 days except the second year of iec? And with out lmo?
