my girlfriend has done her 2 years on the iec program, she got refused residencey so out of curiosity she went for a place in the new visas that came out,she has a new passport and altered her resume to say she came here in oct 2012 instead of oct 2011 and said she done a one year instead of two so she would be eligible, she received a conditional acceptance today so the next stage is the cic which could be trucky! does she have a chance of getting a new visa with the new passport etc? is it worth a shot we are out of options as i cant sponsor her cause we have not been together a year

She is looking at a two year ban from Canada, and possibly criminal proceedings for misrepresentation.
CIC treat document fraud as a serious offence and are likely to catch her now or in the future.
I understand that the legislation is in place to increase the ban to five years...

I agree with zardoz. She should withdraw her application immediately unless she wants to end up with a two year ban from Canada for misrepresentation.

Just to add, if you want to sponsor her - then get married. Easy.

i know but we are really out of options,is it possible to get away with this,we are desperate

I think the chances are low that you will get away with it.

Is it worth the risk of getting a ban? What will you do if she is charged with misrepresentation, has to leave Canada and isn't allowed to return to Canada for two years?

Of course, if she decides to apply for permanent residence in Canada, they will find out as part of the application background and security checks. Then it really will hit the fan....
