IEC and biometrics

Hi everyone. I applied for the IEC and did the biometrics test. Im an Irish citizen and fly to Canada in two weeks. Im really worried that the biometrics could take a long time and as its a new requirement for Irish a

So you are flying to Canada in 2 weeks do you already have your POE letter then or are you just travelling as a visitor ?

Out of interest when was your IEC application accepted, before July 31 2018 or after which is when biometrics came into play as a requirement for new applications ?

applied for IEC but no confirmation letter as of yet as I applied after the 31st of July. I am aware of the timeframes but hope that I won't have to wait months for approval as the biometrics is the last step in the application process?
