I originally had an IEC work permit for 2 years (which expired in February) on my UK passport. I have since obtained an Irish passport and just received my POE for another 2 year IEC visa on that passport.
I applied for a tourist visa/record a month before my last visa expired so I have remained in Canada while waiting for this new one to be approved.
So now I need to go activate the new one. I know you can flagpole etc. but my girlfriend lives in New York so I was planning to fly there for a weekend and return to Canada to activate it and start again. (I have a lease here in Canada and all that stuff).
I’m just wanting to make sure this is okay to do? The Irish passport has never been used so should I show both passports while leaving Canada just to show I’ve “left” the country on my UK passport and then come back in on just the Irish passport? Any information or help would be great. Or maybe I’m over thinking it. Thanks everyone.
