Hi All,

I am an international student who will be studying a full-time two-year diploma program at BCIT in this September, and the study permit is in process. I have been living in Canada for more than two years.

My wife is working under IEC in Canada, and it will be expired on 13th Aug. 2019.
She'd like to apply for Spouse Work Permits(OWP) under my study permit.

My Question is:

Could my wife continue to work for the same company at the same position after the submission of the application of Spouse Work Permit (if it is submitted before the expiry date 13th Aug.)?

In other words, does this situation fit implied status?

Can someone shed some light on this?

Thank you very much.

The only issue may be that spouses of international students are not guaranteed SOWP. The wording is confusing. It says you can apply but not everyone is approved.

Hey, thank you for the reply.

So, what you mean is we could apply for SOWP, and she can continue working under implied status; however, we might be rejected?
