Hello all,
I have a question about car insurance in BC. I’m a Canadian living in Australia for the past two years and am sponsoring my partner on a spousal visa. When we return we know we can get letters from our current insurance provider here to say we have been claim free and use that to get discounts with ICBC which my partner will do. But I recently caused damage to my car (no other parties were involved and there’s no property damage, but the damage to my car is more than I can afford to fix without insurance). So my question is, will ICBC ask if I’ve had a previous accident and will it affect my insurance coming home? I believe I was at a 20-25% discounted rate before I left.
