Hi,

My daughter, who lives outside of Canada, will have her Residency Obligation Hearing with the IAD soon by telephone. The IAD needs telephone call cards, at least with 4 hrs call time. Can anyone recommend a good telephone long distance card here in Canada?

thanks

That's a weird request by IAD but you need to look for a prepaid one with a good company, see if Bell or Rogers offer those.

This is indeed weird.. I would even go as far as fishy! Why would a government division ask for prepaid phone cards? Come on, guys.. Think!

The IAD may require you to pay for the telephone contact by either phoning in to the IAD or by providing reliable long distance calling cards - the letter that the IAD sends to you has more information about this.

Doesn't sound that fishy to me...

It happens all of the time. Perfectly normal for people who cannot attend the hearing in person.
