Hello all,
I am panicking.... I do not think that I will meet the 730 days requirement for my PR.
I landed in Canada on 23 March 2011. I stayed just for one week and did not get a chance to order my SIN card or PR card or Health card.
The reason I cannot return to Canada by March is that I have to take care of my sick grandad who is 96 years old. Another family member can take over the care from end of July 2014. I have a letter from my family doctor stating that I am taking care of my grandfather during this period.
I have two nationalities Swiss and Irish. So I have two passports: Swiss and Irish.
I was wondering if I went to Canada for one week in March, flew in to Toronto with my Irish passport, hired a car and fly out of the States with my Swiss passport would that work to keep my visa open?
Or would it be better for me at the beginning of July to ask the Canadian authorities to give me a Travel Document to fly back to Canada on humanitarian grounds and keep my PR status?
Which option would be best for me?
Thanks for your help!
