i think i totally screwed up my application. what can i do?

so i totally messed up on my application that i just sent off. so i dunno what i should. i'm looking again at the part that says have you ever been detained and i answered no. but i think i actually kind of have been,
about 10 years ago i was accused of stealing from sears.the mall cops held me in a room. where police came in and gave me a court date to appear. i went to court had the charges withdrawn. also around that time frame i was stopped by cops because there was a knife wielding maniac in my area. they looked through my purse and found a blade. they put me in the back of the police car and ran my information through the system. they asked me why i had a knife and i told them i use it for protection as i work late nights and im scared of being assaulted. they let me go. i have a clear police record check and clear rcmp record check as well. i don't know what to do as im freaking out as ive already handed in my application and im afraid im gonna be accused of misrepresentation. i really need your advice guys on what i should do? is it too late. will telling them now only make me look bad?

If it were me, I'd tell the truth cause there's a good chance they could find out anyway and that would cause you more problems.

Depending on how long ago you sent you application in (meaning do you have a file # yet, or a UCI #). if so you could send a webform to amend that particular form where the information is incorrect.

I would also send a covering letter in that webform or put the information as above in the webform itself. Now that's only my opinion ... anyone else help out here??

Yes that's the web form site, I make the same exact mistake as you, I was charge and fine for a offence but my police record don't show it, so I mark no on the application, after I send my application I realized my mistake an I could fine for misrepresentation, i sent in a detail explanation about my charge and fine, u will need a application number to use the web form

Yes the sponsorship will continue they may ask you for a updated imm5669 If it requires, just reported it to them causes If they find out without you disclose it u can be barred for misrepresentation and u will not be able to be sponsor for 5 years
