Is your child in Canada? Are you taking a Masters/Phd? When did you start studies?
Yes, I am now studying at SAIT in Calgary, But I plan to apply for Master of Accounting at U of A in Edmonton, this program only lasts for about 4 months a year, so I don't want to relocate my child to Edmonton. So I'd like to know if my child can still study in Calgary public school while I study at U of A in Edmonton. Thanks for your help.

Where your child studies depends on where you reside. If not moving from Calgary and child is studying in the city, no need to change. Where you get into issues is if you move to Edmonton and child stays in Calgary.

What if I will live both in both cities, since the course only last from May to August each year , I will live in Edmonton during work days, and go back to Calgary for weekends or holidays.

So your primary residence is where? Where you file and pay your taxes?

Would be very cautious if you are trying to use this masters to qualify for other immigration program. It is really an 8 month masters program that U of A is trying to claim is a 2 year program. Unsure whether IRCC will assess it as 8 months or 2 years.

How long is a post-graduation work permit valid?
Starting February 15, 2024, students who graduate from master’s degree programs of less than 2 years (8 months minimum) may be eligible for a 3 year PGWP.

The length of your PGWP depends on the level and duration of your study program, as well as the expiry date of your passport, whichever comes first.
