Good afternoon all! So I'm sitting here letting my anxiety go through the roof and I'm hoping some applicants can relate to my timeline and maybe share some positivity.

I'm a January 26th applicant from the US, and for months I was so stressed about finally getting to SA. Soon after receiving SA in March, I was stressing about getting to IP. I can see why people would get so frustrated with my posts wondering why we didn't get SA when there were people in 2014 still waiting. And for those applicants still waiting, I'm sorry and I hope you hear something soon. Because I want to choke people who applied in June who are whining about why they aren't IP yet.

ANYWAYS...So we finally got IP Aug 20th and from creeping the forum, it looks like IP goes to DM around a month? Just want to know if that's the norm and I should expect something in the next few weeks? Also, for those who've received DM, how long after did you get whatever they send you in the mail? And once you go to the border to "land", do they give you anything that allows you to start working? Like a temporary PR card until the real one is delivered, because I hear that it's been taking awhile for some to get their card. It's like sure, we'll wait a year to finally get to DM, but take a few more months to give us the card....thanks, haha. SO many questions that I feel like I've asked before...but I need someone to make me feel like I won't feel like a crazy person forever.

Please and thank you for any responses! :D

IP to DM varies wildly, there's no way to really say. Your best bet is to check the spreadsheet in my signature.

You can work as soon as you land. Go to the nearest Service Canada office and get your Social Insurance number. Unfortunately it takes about 3 months to get your actual PR card, but all you need is the activated COPR and ID to get your SI number. You will receive a piece of paper with your shiny new permanent number and you are now free to get a job.
